All these activities are compulsory.

Students are expected to respect the schedules.

Absence without permission will not be countenanced.


1. SILENCE

Silence must be observed in the following areas of the school:

  • In the school library
  • At school assembly
  • during classes hour
  • In the classroom
  • At prep 
  • On the administration block
  • During siesta
  • At all social gatherings such as church service, dining hall etc.

2.     CLASSES AND PREP

  • Attendance to classes is compulsory
  • Students are to remain in the class throughout the lesson
  • All home works must be done and presented to the teacher promptly
  • Students should not engage in buying and selling in the school

3. GREETINGS

Students are expected to greet each other and all teachers when they pass by.

They should also extend the same courtesy to all adults when they pass by them

4. DRESSING

i. Allstudents are expected to dress decently at all times

ii. All students are expected to appear in appropriate uniforms during school hours

iii. Apart from white, black or blue-black sweater and cardigan, which can be won when the weather is cold or when the student is ill, students are not allowed to wear any other dress on their uniform.

iv. No student is allowed to use make up and accessories such as bracelet,necklace,dangling ear rings or eye shadow etc.neither are students allowed to paint their lips or nails.

v. Only small earrings are to be worn

vi. Slippers  should be worn only in the dormitories

vii. Boys must not wear moustache or beard

viii. No bushy or crazy haircuts are allowed.Haircuts should be low and evenly rounded

ix. All students (boys and girls) must wear low-heeled sandals

x. Students must tuck in shirt at all times

xi. School uniforms without crest are not permitted

xii. Crest must be firmly sown to the uniform

xiii. Students are expected to keep their uniform and their bodies clean at all times.

5. PUNCTUALITY

i. Students are expected to be punctual to all School gatherings.

ii. Students, who are late to class may be refused entry to the classroom by the teacher and be punished afterwards.

iii. Students are expected to be seated and remain quiet when the siren signals classes to begin.

iv. the absence of a teacher must be reported to the Assistant Headmaster or mistress (Academic or Administration) five minutes after the start of a lesson

v. There must be total silence during prep period

vi. No movement whatsoever would be tolerated

vii. Day students, who wish to stay on campus after school to study during prep hours, should seek permission from the Assistant Headmaster or Headmistress and Senior House master or mistress

6.    CLEANLINESS

a. The school compound must be kept clean at all times.

b. The classroom and plots must be tidied up before assembly.

c. Litter must be dropped only into litter bins

Anyone seen dropping a piece of paper, water sachet or polythene wastes carelessly shall be asked to pick pieces of paper from the compound for three days.

Every class should be responsible for the general cleanliness around its immediate surroundings 

Any class that violates this rule will be sanctioned

7.     FIGHTING AND QUARRELING 

a. Fighting is prohibited in the school. The penalty for this is:

Suspension (internal or external)/indefinite when deemed fit

b.     Student found quarrelling would be asked to do groundwork or scrubbing. If any school property is damaged in the process, the cost of all forms of damage to the school property shall be borne by the offender(s).

8.      STEALING AND PETTY THEFT

a. Petty theft: Suspension (internal or external)/indefinite when deemed fit

b. All identifiable stolen items will be refunded by the culprit

9.     EXAMINATION

All examinations are compulsory.Students who fall ill during examination must produce medical certificate. Failure to write examination without justification attracts the following penalties.

Possible repetition or be made to write exam papers at a cost.

Any subsequent offence amounts to indefinite suspension.

10.     ATTITUDE TO STAFF, SCHOOL AUTHORITY AND PREFECTS

a. Rudeness on the part of a student towards a teacher shall be punishable by not less than two weeks suspension or summary withdrawal depending on the gravity of the offence.

b. Students found to be flouting the authority of the Headmistress will face withdrawal.

Any form of misbehaviour against any other member of staff will on the first offence result in suspension. When offence is repeated the student will be withdrawn.

c. For flouting the authority of School Prefects.

1. ASSAULT BY STUDENTS AND PARENTS

a. Assault on any member of staff is punishable by withdrawal.

b. Assault on prefect is punishable by suspension 

2. EXEAT

Every student is entitled to two exeats in a term. Students will be allowed to enjoy exeat only with tangible reasons.

3. DRINKING AND SMOKING

a. Alcohol drink and smoking of cigarette are NOT allowed in the school.

4. COOKING

Cooking is prohibited in the boarding house. Offenders will have their utensils and appliances confiscated and suspended.

5. SEXUAL MISCONDUCT OR HARASSMENT

The penalty for sexual misconduct is withdrawal. For sexual harassment, it is indefinite suspension.

6. INCITEMENT TO RIOT AND RIOTING

Suspension (for those pressurized into rioting).

Withdrawal for ring leaders.

Parents to pay cost of damage if any.

7. ANONYMOUS LETTER WRITING AND GIVING OF FALSE INFORMATION

11. SCHOOL PROPERTY

a. Students are expected to adopt responsible attitude towards the use of school property. A student who wilfully causes damage to school property shall replace such property or pay three times of such property at the current market value.

b. Writing on walls and graffiti on school furniture is strictly prohibited

PUNISHMENT

Offenders will pay for the full cost of painting and repairs of property

12. GENERAL

i. Respect and courtesy: students should stand up when a master or mistress enters the classroom for a lesson. Or with a visitor. Respect for master or mistress should be spontaneous both in and out of the school.

ii. Mutual Respect and Courtesy among students should be observed at all times as a condition for a harmonious school life.

iii. Students must not give any false news about life in school and in general. All student problems and difficulties must be referred to the appropriate school authorities for solution or redress.

iv. Students should not visit the canteen while school is in session. Eating at the canteen when classes are in session is punishable.

13. OFFENCES COMMITTED OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL

Necessary disciplinary action shall be taken against the offender.

14. OTHERS

Any other behaviour or attitude not acceptable to society shall constitute an offence. 


REST HOUR OR SIESTA

Siesta shall be observed from 3:30pm - 4:30pm from Mondays to Thursdays except on Fridays which are design for club meeting days.

I. Light out is at 10:00pm. There shall be no noise after light out.

II. Eating or drinking is not allowed in the classrooms or verandas.

III. Sitting on the stairs or rails or loitering at unapproved locations during class hours is strictly prohibited. Such unapproved locations during class hours include: dining hall, assembly hall, school gardens or under trees or any other place.

IV. Students shall comport themselves in and out of the classrooms during class hours. Anyone found disturbing in the classrooms during lessons would be punished.


PHONE BOOTHS

Students are allowed to use the phone booths on campus only after classes.

Boarders can only use the phone booths after siesta, between the hours of 4:30pm and 6:00pm


FOOTNOTES

The Head of institution shall use her discretion to vary the punishment especially in circumstances where the student is handicapped or ill.

Again in all cases involving indefinite suspension and withdrawal, the student will be told of his or her offence and sent home. Thereafter, a full investigation will be conducted into the matter and punishment shall be meted out to the student only when he or she is found guilty.

Parents who have problems pertaining to bills or any other problem can come to the school and see the Headmistress for discussion.


MOBILE PHONES

Students are not permitted to use phones in classrooms or dormitories. Students found with phones in school:

First offence   -   Suspension (confiscation of phone)

Second offence   -  withdrawal 

Every student must bring a broom and cutlass or hoe to school on re-opening.

Students should be dropped at the main gate when coming to school and picked at the gate by their vehicles when leaving the school
